Florence has run a prom to Colchester United's football stadium on United Way – a July evening, roof down, with time built in for photographs before the drive. Prom hire is £200, and that is the whole price – it includes VAT, and there is nothing added afterwards. A £50 deposit secures the date and the balance is due before the evening.

Proms cluster into the last two weeks of June and the first week of July, which means a handful of Thursdays and Fridays carry most of the season. Those dates tend to be taken during February and March, so it is worth asking early even if the tickets are not out yet. There is one car, so once a date is gone it is gone.
