Well outside our usual patch, and we still say yes – Florence has driven a Corby wedding and would happily do another.

Florence in Corby

Northamptonshire is a long way from our door, and we will not pretend otherwise. Florence lives in mid-Suffolk, and a Corby wedding is the better part of a morning's drive before the day even starts. We take these bookings anyway, because couples who want a Nissan Figaro specifically often cannot find one locally – there are very few in wedding service anywhere in the country.

That is exactly how the last one came about. A couple searching online for a Figaro found us in Suffolk, asked whether we would travel, and we said yes. Florence collected the bride from home in Corby, took her to Our Lady of Walsingham on the other side of town, and then ran the couple out to Greetham Valley in Rutland for the reception.

She is a Nissan Figaro convertible in mint green, chauffeur-driven by John in a suit, shirt and tie. Three passengers, or two in real comfort with the front seat lifted out for a dress. For a wedding this far from base we set off early and build in a generous margin – a long journey is a reason to allow more time, not less.

Getting to Corby

Bedfield to Corby is about 110 miles, usually two and a half hours via the A14. That is well beyond the area we cover as standard, so Northamptonshire bookings are priced to include the travel and we only take a small number each year. The last one was £450 all in. Ask early – if the date is already committed closer to home we will not be able to make it work.

Proms are really a local service for us – at this distance the travel costs more than the hire, so a Northamptonshire prom is rarely worth your money. Weddings are different, because the car is with you for the whole day. Ask if you would like a quote either way.
