Florence in Ipswich

Ipswich is the town we are called out to most often. Woolverstone Hall, down on the Orwell, has had Florence on its gravel more than once – including a morning of three separate runs, taking mothers, then bridesmaids, then the bride and her father, from a house at Pin Mill to the ceremony. Christchurch Mansion, on the Bolton Lane side, is on the list too.

She is a Nissan Figaro – a soft-top classic in soft mint green, seating three passengers, or two in real comfort with the front seat lifted out to give a dress the room it needs. She is not a limousine and she is not trying to be. She is small, cheerful, and completely unlike anything else that will pull up outside an Ipswich church that morning.

John drives her himself, in a suit, shirt and tie, and arrives early – usually half an hour before the first pick-up, so there is time to dress the car and take photographs on the drive. That is the whole service: one car, one chauffeur, no handovers, no subcontracting to whoever happens to be free.

Getting to Ipswich

Florence is based at Bedfield, near Framlingham, roughly 20 miles from the centre of Ipswich – about 35 minutes down the A1120 and A14. That puts every part of the town, from Kesgrave and Rushmere to Chelmondiston, Pin Mill and Wherstead, comfortably inside our normal coverage with no additional travel charge.
